Our 3D Secure feature brings you credit cards with enhanced safety when your card isn’t present at checkout (online and over the phone shopping) that will help prevent fraud with fast, secure authentication.
How It Works
- When you make an online or over the phone purchase at a participating 3D Secure merchant, you will be prompted to provide your 16 digit Community Bank credit card number, card expiration date and security code on the back of the card.
- If VISA rates your purchase as a high risk transaction, less than 5% of all transactions will be rated as high risk, a One-Time Passcode (OTP) will be sent to your mobile phone number or email address as maintained in our records.
- Provide the One-Time Passcode (OTP) to complete your online or over the phone purchase.
What is 3D Secure?
The Community Bank offers 3D Secure as a free service that adds an additional layer of protection for online and over the phone shopping.
Do I really need to register for 3D Secure?
No enrollment is required. All Community Bank credit cards are provided this extra layer of protection automatically. Please ensure your mobile phone number and email address are up to date with The Community Bank. How does 3D Secure protect me?
3D Secure provides an added layer of protection by prompting you for a One-Time Passcode when you make an online or over the phone purchase and the transaction has been identified by VISA as high risk. This extra layer of security helps protect against fraudulent transactions by verifying that the customer making the purchase is the rightful owner of the Community Bank credit card.

What is the One-Time Passcode that is required for online and over the phone transactions on my Community Bank credit card?
The Community Bank will send you a new 6 digit numeric One-Time Passcode to your mobile phone number and/or email address maintained in our records. You will need to provide this One-Time Passcode to authenticate your transaction.
Can I use one One-Time Passcode for more than one transaction?
No, every 6 digit One-Time Passcode is valid only for that particular transaction and cannot be used for any other transaction.
For how long is the One-Time Passcode valid?
Each One-Time Passcode is valid for 30 minutes or one successful usage whichever is earlier.
What happens if I do not receive the One-Time Passcode?
One-Time Passcode would be instantly sent to the mobile phone number and/or email address maintained in our records, after you have started the transaction and entered your Community Bank credit card details. If you do not receive the One-Time Passcode, please reach out to The Community Bank to verify your mobile phone number and email address with The Community Bank are correct by contacting us at 740.454.1600, stopping in to your local Banking Office, or logging into your Online Banking with Bill Pay account or your eZCard account to view your personal information.
